As the Founder and Principal Healthcare Consultant of her own firm, Breakaway MD, Nicole has had the privilege of partnering with innovative healthcare businesses to implement solutions that modernize their operations. She finds it rewarding to witness how small changes can have a significant impact.
Before launching her consultancy, Nicole served at Synergetics, where she spearheaded operational excellence initiatives across over 1,000 locations, involving more than 3,500 providers. Her role focused on improving processes and fostering collaboration among teams to drive real change, which she finds deeply fulfilling. With over 13 years of experience navigating this landscape, she has dedicated her career to making meaningful changes that improve patient outcomes while enhancing organizational operational efficiencies. This dedication stems from her belief that the intersection of medicine and technology holds incredible potential for transforming healthcare delivery.
Impactful Initiatives & Authorship
During her tenure as Director of Performance Improvement at Tampa Family Health Centers, Nicole established new departments from scratch while optimizing key performance indicators (KPIs) across 15 Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs). This experience underscored the importance of building strong teams and creating effective workflows that empower staff to perform at their best, fostering an environment where everyone can thrive together.
Writing her book, "Breakaway: The International Medical Graduate’s Guide to Alternative Careers," was another pivotal moment for Nicole. It’s more than just sharing knowledge; it's about guiding others through the unknown paths they may encounter in their careers.
